Kim's experiences with a variety of businesses -- under $10 million up to multi-billion dollar businesses, business startups, and long-established organizations -- contributes to his understanding of business complexity, diversity, and uniqueness. He has assisted organizations in manufacturing, distribution, service, finance, and education. Over his career, Kim has been engaged to deal with strategy formation, strategic planning, strategy execution, product realization, technology development, business unit formation, business transformation, business process development, reengineering, standalone business startups, and startups as part of a larger business.

With BAi, Kim's focus is solely on strategic management competency development for all types of businesses and organizations. In this role, he has worked with existing businesses as well as with business startups. In developing the Business Architecture, Inc. value proposition, Kim has created a strategic management competency framework to holistically address the strategic needs of organization's seeking to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. This framework is the basis for understanding, developing, and continually evolving an organization's competency.

Prior to forming Business Architecture, Inc., Kim held many roles at Andersen Corporation (Andersen Windows) with key accomplishments and roles including:
- Radical improvement in customer service with radical business process reengineering
- Supply chain analysis for total operational cost reduction of 7%
- Fulfillment vision for handling a wide variety of products in a shorter lead-time
- New product and new business development to enter into new markets
- Guiding the shift from mass production to mass customization
- Strategy formulation and deployment, enterprise-wide to departmental in scope
- New product development and realization
- New business startup
- Program management of corporate initiatives, head of purchasing, head of manufacturing control, and information systems and business process development.
Prior to joining Andersen Corporation, Kim was a consultant with Andersen Consulting (Accenture). During his tenure there he had the opportunity to provide improved business solutions to a variety of companies. This experience highlighted the value of a defined process in guiding companies through change and improvement.
Kim taught Corporate Finance at the University of Iowa. He has since taught many sessions at professional organizations and within his employer.

Kim earned an MBA in Finance and Information Systems from the University of Iowa after 2 years in the Architecture program at Iowa State University.
