Incorporate Business Design Into Strategy

Why Architecture? Why Business Design?

A building architect works collaboratively with the client and the general contractor to design and build a structure to meet the client's needs. This can include remodeling, expansion, new additions, or whole new structures. The use of the architect reduces the risks and costs of meeting the client's needs while taking much of the guesswork and risk out of the effectiveness of the solution.

Strategy Is Business Design

BAi serves as a business architect to meet the client needs to produce a strategically competitive business. "Architecture" is more than just a lose analogy. Strategy is essentially business design. Strategy formulation, thus business design, has many parallels to other design processes, especially building design. Also, architectural principles are identifiable and applicable to business design.

Strategic Business Design

Where business design dramatically departs from building design, if not in principle, at least in degree, is that a business design seeks flexibility and adaptability. An adaptable learning organization is designed to morph with its changing strategy. The more modular and flexible a business organization, the more quickly and efficiently new strategies can be deployed.
