Engagement and Flexibility
Participation and Organizations Designed to Change
Change management is considered by many to be either ineffective, a sign of poor management, counterproductive, or all three. A highly participative approach to strategy and the use of effective performance objective development and alignment methods brings about change as part of effective management methods. BAi leans towards broad participation in the strategy process, engaging the people of the business in shaping their own destiny. Also, BAi looks to design flexibility into the organization and its management processes, reducing the need for explicit change management.
Reducing the Cost and Risk of Change
Change management done well is change management done in the process of creating the strategy and making the decisions. The cost and risk of change is high, when the organization does not understand the change required by the strategy. The time spent in a participative interactive design process produces a better strategy while reducing the cost, risk, and time to implement. With this approach, the bulk of the change management occurs during the design.
